BioA tall, lanky girl with a spirited air. Her round face is set with curious gray eyes framed by long lashes, a stubborn mouth often smiling over her dimpled chin. Lu's tawny hair, lightened from hours in the sun, just brushes the tops of her shoulders. She moves quickly with practiced sure-footedness, eager to show what she knows and all that she's able to do. Her height is just about 5' 8", accentuating a willowy frame without much notable curve. She wears a practical white shirt with long sleeves, calf-length breeches comfortably loose and shoes well-worn from Running hither and tither. A thin belt of black wherhide can be seen at her waist, its silver buckle polished to perfection.
Lujayn was born to a rider pair in Fort, namely greenrider Jaia and a merely coincidental brownrider called E'syn. She grew up rough and tumble from the nursery but thankfully not overly aggressive, and has spent a vast amount of her time running about the Weyr and its surrounding areas. Come to think of it, what other task could be trusted to a lanky girl with such energy? Lu (a common pet name for the weyrbrat) started Running messages for first Fort Weyr and gradually the surrounding Fort area as she aged, but hopes to branch out extensively in the turns to come.
An outgoing youth, Lu can be a bit tactless in her speech at times but is none the worse for it. She has an admirable store of patience, though it waxes more on the side of stubborn and determined when she must get a thing down pat before moving on to another task. Being a Runner keeps her in good physical condition, fit and up for clambering around just about anywhere unexplored. Lu can become fed up with people who are too 'slow' in her opinion: those who carefully weigh all decisions or shy on the side of caution; she is content to leave them behind with their "what ifs" while she pushes ahead.
More recently, Lujayn was Searched by Emilly's green Sionath for Teonath and Wyaeth's clutch at High Reaches Weyr. After a vigorous candidacy, Lujayn and her fellow candidates were roused onto the sands before dawn had even broken. She was claimed by Sun In Winter Gold Rielsath, and is just now starting to make her way through Weyrlinghood, an entirely different experience than anything that came before...
